How Backline uses Google data
Google Search Console and Google Analytics
Backline customers can optionally connect the Google Search Console property and Google Analytics 4 property for the website they manage.
- What we read. With read-only access we list the properties you've verified so you can choose one, then read aggregated performance for that single property: clicks, impressions, CTR and average position plus your top search queries and landing pages from Search Console, and sessions, users, page views, engagement rate, channels, pages and countries from Analytics.
- What we never read. We never request any dimension that identifies an individual visitor, and we never write to, verify or change any Google property or setting.
- Where it goes. Straight back to your own dashboard, visible only to the people you've given access to that project.
- Limited Use. Backline's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train generalised or foundation AI models.
